We are thrilled to announce that we've organized a special screening of our just-released documentary film Snk'mip Dig Deeper to coincide with our conservation colleagues heading to Rossland for the Kootenay Conservation Program's Fall Gathering this coming Friday and Saturday. The film screening is Thursday evening at 7 p.m... for those who want to arrive comfortably in advance of the KCP event's start the next day.
In order to make it convenient for you, we'll be showing this ground-breaking and transformative film on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3rd at 7 p.m. at the Rossland Museum. Huge thanks to the Rossland Museum for hosting this, they're a wonderful community partner.
Here are all the dates and locations of all upcoming screenings:
The film admission is by donation: pay what you can. There's a suggested donation of $15/person but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. The good folks at the Rossland Museum would like to know how many people to expect so they can set up appropriately, please pre-register by clicking here. You can also pay at the door, preregistration is not absolutely necessary but would be appreciated. (If you click the link you'll be asked to both register and pay in advance with a credit card.)
This screening of Snk'mip Dig Deeper is open to the public so anyone in Rossland and the surrounding area is more than welcome! Bring a friend, this film is important. There will be a brief Q&A afterward with local anthropologist Lori Barkley who is incredibly good at explaining the complex and nuanced 'deep history' of this area and current issues around Indigenous rights and reconciliation.
